Meet Lexi Mastrangelo, LMHC

ABOUT ME

Thank you for taking the time to learn about Connections Counseling Services in Wilmington, Massachusetts. I am so glad you are here! My name is Lexi Mastrangelo (formerly Lexi Shuman) and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 10 years experience working with individuals who have struggled with depression, anxiety, and anger, as well as had difficult life experiences or survived a traumatic event. As a psychotherapist and parent coach, I empower teens and adult women to confidently make healthy decisions, to learn to have positive relationships with others, and most importantly, themselves.

I opened Connections Counseling Services in 2016 in order to serve youth and families in the community who are looking for a mental health provider that can offer individual and family therapy, in addition to supporting mental health needs more broadly through consultation and trainings.

I also offer trauma-informed care that supports trauma survivors in addressing the thoughts and feelings impacted by trauma and abuse, and exploring safe and healthy ways to manage emotions, communicate how they are feeling, and make meaning of difficult experiences.

Contact me by phone or email to discuss how I can help you or your child attain your counseling goals!

My Approach

My practice encompasses a wide range of therapeutic techniques, including talk therapy, sensory skills, DBT, CBT, relaxation techniques, and effective communication/conflict resolution strategies. I use a range of treatment approaches, but I am formally trained in ARC (Attachment Regulation Competency), Trauma- Focused Cognitive Behaviorl Therapy (TF-CBT), SMART (Sensorimotor Arousal Regulation Treatment), and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy). My prior clinical experiences include residential, acute level of care, and outpatient treatment settings, so I am comfortable working with a wide range of clients, symptoms, and behaviors.

I support my clients in building a healthier set of coping strategies, effective interpersonal and communication skills, and a strong sense of personal identity.
